Utilizing your gifts at Visalia Naz

If I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. - 1 Corinthians 13:2-3

We're so excited that you want to serve others with us at Visalia Naz! God has "created us in Christ Jesus for good works" (Eph 2:10), so you can bet that your heart will be satisfied as you give your time and skills to bless others.

But as Paul reminds us in the passage above, let your service be done out a love for God and others. When you feel that you're serving from a sense of obligation or a desire to please others or boost your reputation, don't simply quit serving, but ask God to renew in you a love for Him and a love for His created people, that you can serve with gratitude and joy in your heart. If you give everything to others yet have not love, you gain nothing. But if you love, you will want to give, and you will gain everything!

Wondering where to serve or doubting you have anything to offer? Read this:

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ... For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. (1 Corinthians 12:12,14-20)

The point is, God has made every person unique and has given gifts to each person to serve in different ways. Perhaps it's difficult for you to see what your gift could be. Don't be discouraged! That is a normal feeling to have, especially if you have never served as a part of a church before.

We'd like to help you find a role that would be a good fit for you. Let us know a bit about yourself using the form below, and one of our leaders will reach out and assist you in your goal to serve at Visalia Naz.
